I’ve been running this site on WordPress.  I finally took some time and upgraded from 2.5.1 to 2.7.  It took me a bit to get everything working again.  I broke one of the main widgets, one of the themes needed to be upgraded, and I found a couple sites lost the bot blocker software I installed.  That said, I think it’s done and everything is working again.

Yes, there is an App available to do your Wordpress posting via the iPhone.  I just used the app to post our visit to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.  I was even able to add pictures that I had on the iPhone.  It’s a great app and it’s free to boot.  I can’t wait to see what the next version adds.

Over the last two weeks, my blogs seem to be getting visited by some nasty spiders.  I’m getting spam in my blog comments.  They don’t appear as I have my comments set to moderated but it’s still a pain.  Well tonight, I hope I’ve put a dent into this problem by adding Captcha images to blog postings.  Sorry, you now have to also enter a sequence of letters/numbers into a prompt before you can submit a comment to one of my blog entries.

I found one that I’m going to use on my blog called Glossy Blue. I picked it up at a site called “all my themes“.

I just found a link a bunch more themes for WordPress. It’s called Farms 100 big ones theme pack. I’ve added it to the site.

I’ve added three new themes to our site from the Sandbox Designs Competition. They are “The Blue Butterfly”, “Sandpress”, and “Wrock It”.

I just did my first code hack to the WordPress MU. I updated the code to allow for comments to be automatically approved when being posted my a subscriber. Here’s the article talking about the hack. Comments Hack

It’s been about six months since I last tried to upgrade the website. I started using Drupal but I really did not fall in love with it. I took the plunge and again re-installed the website with another Open Source product. This time I’m trying out WordPress MU (Multi User). Give me some feedback on what you think about the new flavor of the week
